Dr. Jensen's books are so well researched and written - a pleasure to read! She is an expert in that unique and beautiful niche, the blend of early church history and art. This area of expertise is growing in its popularity; as we learn more about those first centuries of Christianity, we learn so much about how our faith was practiced. It is remarkable that there actually is art that survives, which teaches/reflects on how people believed all those centuries ago, be it about baptism or other doctrines. Valuable regardless of one's denomination, and certainly valuable to art historians.
Excellent book and a great seller.
Awesome book. Really brings new light to baptism. Truly enjoyed the book. It was a required read for seminary but I still found it interesting.
The uniqueness of this book is how it combines: 1) Biblical text; 2) Church fathers' writings; 3) Architecture and Art.
This is a fascinating book with a timely message for all Christians--laity and clergy alike.
