I have been ordering this calendar from Amazon for years. The illustrations are cheery, the recipes are rarely disappointing and the production quality of the calendar has been good overall. For that, this calendar deserves five stars. Unfortunately, I am forced to downgrade the rating because the production quality is lacking. This year (2017) I have had each hole in the paper break within a couple of days of turning to a new month. While I have had this happen on about a quarter of the pages of any given Gooseberry Calendar in the past, this year it rips through so fast that the previous month ends up facing out within a couple of days of the new month. It's a pain to tape the top of each calendar page and re-punch the hole through the tape as a means to repair it. To my eye, it looks as if the 2017 Gooseberry Patch calendar makes use of a lighter-weight paper than in previous years (it is flimsier and the pages are more prone to bending). I do wish that Gooseberry Patch would use similar paper weight and quality as Lang (and if it were up to me, I'd have Lang publish this calendar, too, since Lang is the leading manufacturer for top-quality wall calendars). In general, I feel that popular "Americana" wall calendars like this should support U.S. jobs and be published in the U.S. This calendar, as so many are now, was printed overseas.In 2015 I had a different issue with my Gooseberry Patch wall calendar. As I do every year, I placed my order for a 2016 Gooseberry Patch calendar with Amazon and received an Amazon ship confirmation only for Amazon to fail to update their ship status. Although Amazon had run out of inventory, my order continued to indicate it was "pending shipment" and it did so for two full months during which time I made no inroads with Amazon's customer service. They kept insisting that Amazon would obtain more stock despite being many weeks behind on fulfilling the order. It didn't ship from Amazon direct because Gooseberry Patch, as is common with calendar publishing in general, didn't reprint the 2016 calendar after it ran out of stock at the end of 2015. When I finally reached out to the manufacturer via the Gooseberry Patch website — because Amazon's online/offshore customer service didn't seem to comprehend that this type of item doesn't get restocked late into a New Year — Gooseberry customer service said they couldn't help, either, because they, too, were out of stock — and had no plans to print anymore 2016 wall calendars (at this point it was late February 2016). Eventually, the Gooseberry Patch 2016 calendar became available through a third-party seller here on Amazon for about double the original price. So in April last year, I at last received my 2016 Gooseberry Patch calendar.This year I made sure to order my Gooseberry Patch wall calendar from Amazon much earlier — about two months before the new year — only to find that each page of this year's calendar is tearing through the hole-punch so quickly that I can't keep the current month showing without taping up the top of the page and re-doing the hole-punch. I do love these calendars but based on the last two years worth of experience ordering here on Amazon I can no longer justify purchasing it "sight unseen" online. Next year I will be shopping for this item at a local bookstore where I can confirm prior to purchase that the quality has improved over this year.
Every year I try to order my GooseberryPatch calendar before the new yearbegins. This year, I was a little tardy,but anytime I can order, it becomes another collectable.Having this whimsical, warm,beautifully illustrated calendar has beena tradition for me for a number of years.Each month there's an easy recipe tofollow, colorful memories of that month& season.The illustrations always take me backto simpler times, moments with my lategrandmother, homemade gifts, cozyplaces, comfort food, holidays, & loving family.Once-Upon-A-Time, there was a Gooseberry Patch Catalog; vintageitems one could purchase.I wish these innovative ladies; Jo Ann & Vickie would re-open their store again, but I'll settle for every month of beautiful watercolor reminders that we still & always have"home."A lovely accessory for anywhere you hang it. I like close to or in the Kitchen myself...Thank you, ladies!
I buy the Gooseberry Patch calendar every year! I LOVE the cute design, recipes, and holiday tips. Each month has an adorable season/holiday themed illustration along with a recipe. There are fun tips and ideas for celebrating that month. I'm a busy working mom and don't have time to craft or cook for fun as much as I'd like to, but I love looking at this calendar because it gives me a little bit of a sense of that happiness.
I really enjoy gooseberry patch calendars, however there are several recipes that have appeared in prior years. If I had known, I would have definitely chosen a different calendar this yearUpdate-This is a calendar that was released before, I believe it was 2006.Same recipes - same pictures.Would not have purchased again.
This is a gorgeous calendar. I bought it for my mother for Christmas and she loves it. The art is lovely and well designed for each month. I love that it includes recipes as well. Some months have two recipes included. I wouldn't mind having one of these for myself! Definitely purchase if you love whimsical and cozy themed products. Another winner from gooseberry patch!

I buy one of these calendars every year for me and my daughter. The pictures are gorgeous and we both like to try out the recipes for each month. You just can't go wrong with Gooseberry Patch. I like all of their items.
